Two workshops for Year 12/ Year 13 will take place on
7th & 14th January in the Rutherford Building at 1.35pm
The two workshops draw on the mental preparation and performance skills used by sportsmen/women to ensure stress does not detract from their elite performance.
The first session will look at
• Why stress is necessary for peak performance
• What happens physiologically when stress is too great, and how to manage stress
• Quick tips for coping with frequent stress symptoms and trigger points; poor sleep, poor eating, parent issues,
time management issues etc
• How thinking and feeling are connected
• How to develop good thought processes for dealing with the challenges of revision and exam preparation
• How to rehearse your mental strategy for managing exams is ‘stress proofing’
• How to use positive mental attitude to maximise performance in the exam room
• Rescue techniques if stress does strike!
The second session will be more open discussion of specific issues group participants are managing.
